The OVS Expedition Truck Cap includes a 3M single bulb seal for the bed rails and bulkhead to prevent water and dust from entering. The rear hatch also contains a bulb seal that sits on top of the tailgate when closed. Additionally, 2 strips of butyl tape are provided to place at the bulkhead rail to protect against water and dust intrusion where the plastic bed rail meets the bulkhead.
It is important to note that no truck bed is completely sealed, and some water intrusion may be possible although greatly reduced with the bulb seal. Likely water intrusion is often found around the tailgate perimeter.

Does the Expedition Truck Cap come with a crossbar system?
Yes, an Overland Vehicle Systems cross-bar option is available in different widths. Just select the crossbars option above. The cross bars will mount to the included cap rails (the rails that go parallel with the frame rails). The bars have a dynamic weight rating of 325 lbs and a static weight rating of 750 lbs and have a rise of approximately 2” above the cap.

Are the Expedition Truck Cap included roof rails compatible with other aftermarket cross bars?
The included rails were designed around the Overland Vehicle Systems optional cross bars. The included roof rails do have a 19mm slot which will allow for various systems. OVS has been testing various aftermarket crossbar systems and found that the Yakima HD Crossbars (SKU: #8001156), the Yakima Landing Pads (SKU: #8000221), and the Yakima Skyline Towers (SKU: #8000163) if bought together is compatible with their Expedition Truck Cap.

The Expedition Truck Cap includes a stationary vent located above the glass on the nearest panel to the cab. This vent enables air to circulate and ventilate, preventing condensation build-up inside the topper. The panels can also be closed with the release of excess air.
